With the inauguration of Donald Trump as the 45th president of the United States, an era of utter chaos has begun, according to Myles Hoenig, an American political analyst and activist.
Hoenig, a former Green Party candidate for Congress, made the remarks in an interview with Press TV on Friday shortly before Trump took the oath of office on the steps of the US Capitol.
“By noon, this 20th day of January 2017, the US will usher in the Year of Trump with his inauguration. He will be the 45th president since the country’s founding in 1776,” Hoenig said.
“This is an unbelievable moment for nearly everyone here and for people around the world. We are going from a president known to say, ‘I’m really good at killing people’, to something said offensive to women and most people with a sense of decency,” he stated.
“So what are the hopes and fears of America today?” the analyst asked.
Hopes (for his supporters)
“Reining in of the government and corporations that control all aspects of American life by appointing a cabinet of people who wouldn’t even know what the cost of a Pepsi is or what student loan debt is, Hoenig said.
“Bringing back manufacturing jobs and other industries either long gone or on its way out. Even China is now leading the world in renewable energy.
“A health care system that will keep premiums low and available to all, as long as the insurance industry maintains its stranglehold on health care.
“Restricting immigration and an era of intolerance towards Muslims and other minorities.
“Keeping blacks in their place and lifting any or all federal crimes against police violence. The argument is if you aren’t guilty then you have nothing to worry about (says any law abiding white citizen).
“An educational system not managed by the federal government. Ending the separation of church and state in the classroom. Prayers in schools and tax dollars for religious instruction and indoctrination.”
Fears: All of the above.
“In reality, his is an administration completely separated from main stream Americans. A Secretary of Energy from an oil producing state and who wanted the agency abolished, Hoenig said.
“An education secretary who’s so mired in dirty money and oblivious to the needs of public education that she makes Obama’s Duncan look like a visionary.
“Although moving away from Obama’s war policy towards Russia, China looks to be in Trump’s cross hairs.
“A legitimization of hate groups like the KKK and anti-Jewish and Muslim organizations. Trump’s father was a member of the Klan and the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.
“Perhaps the greatest fear is the confusion his opponents have in wanting to get rid of him, most likely through impeachment, yet not wanting his vice president to succeed him.
“Believe it or not, Pence was Trump’s assassination/impeachment insurance card as barely no one in Congress is as despicable on policies as he is.”
