China has opened a giant floating walkway, 50,000 meters long, to tourists in the southwestern province of Guizhou.

The path, which is constructed in the Hongshui River tourist resort in Luodian County, covers an area of 54,000 square meters.

The walkway is also decorated with tens of thousands of colorful lamps that create a stunning light show for the visitors in the evening.

"We have been taking photos since we got here. We also put videos we filmed here in our WeChat friend circles, and many friends said that they also want to come here after seeing the videos," said Wang Panpan, a tourist from the Chinese capital, Beijing.

The floating passage also has amusement equipment and performances.

Luodian County has been promoting winter tourism as it enjoys higher average temperatures in winter compared to the province’s other areas. More than 60,000 tourists have flocked to the county since January 1.
