The Islamic Republic of Iran will host the 7th edition of Asian Taekwondo Clubs Championships in the northern city of Sari in mid-April.
Mazandaran Taekwondo Association will organize the two-day continental sports event, which will be held at Seyyed Rasoul Hosseini sports hall of Sari, situated 275 kilometers north of the capital Tehran, between April 13 and 14.
On February 20, 2016, Iranian men’s Shahrdari Varamin taekwondo club claimed the title at the 6th edition of Asian Taekwondo Clubs Championships in Sharjah, the United Arab Emirates, having collected five gold and three silver medals and tallied 50 points.
Kazakhstan snatched one gold, one silver and one bronze medals to accumulate 37 points, and finish as the vice champion.
Al-Nasr taekwondo club came third with 13 points.
In the women’s section, Iranian women’s Can Home Appliances and Kourosh Sportswear clubs finished in first and second place with 48 points and 22 points respectively.
The Persians were followed by representatives from Kazakhstan, who racked up 12 points to sit in the third spot.
Can Home Appliances club won six gold, one silver and one bronze medals, while Kourosh Sportswear club bagged won one gold, two silver and five bronze medals.
The 7th edition of Asian Taekwondo Clubs Championships will kick off in Sari, northern Iran, on April 13, 2017, and will finish the following day.
