Russian officials admit to existence of doping program

Rusada's acting director general Anna Antseliovich claims her words were 'taken out of context'.

After months of denial, Russian officials have for the first time admitted to the existence of a doping operation, which affected some of the world’s major competitions.

Lawyer Richard McLaren delivers his second and final part of a report for the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), at a news conference in London, Britain December 9, 2016.

The officials, however, continue to reject the accusation, that the doping program was state-sponsored. The second report by McLaren, published earlier this month, claimed more than 1,000 Russians benefited from a doping cover-up between 2011 and 2015.

Nearly two dozen Russian Olympic medalists have also been stripped of their medals, after their samples were re-tested.
