The leaders of South Korea’s largest family-run conglomerates have faced a grilling from lawmakers probing the corruption which has hit President Park Geun-hye’s administration. Corporate chiefs say they provided huge sums to suspect charities run by the president’s close friend and confidante only out of good will, with no expectations of special benefits in return.
