Australia has hosted the ‘First Lego League' in which children are competing to build a robot using Lego.

The league is an international robotics competition for children aged 9 to 16 to design, build, and code a robot using Lego Mindstorms technology and to present their work at the event.

Teams of up to 10 students build, program and compete with a robot. The robots have to complete multiple tasks on a farm within a strict time-frame.

Organizers say the competition encourages the application of science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
