'Sculpture by the Sea' exhibition begins in Sydney's Bondi Beach

Celebrating it's 20th anniversary, Sculpture by the Sea is the world's largest annual, free-to-the-public, outdoor sculpture exhibition.

Thousands have gathered in Sydney to visit one of the most popular outdoor art exhibitions that is called ‘Sculptures by the Sea’.

The free event that is in its 20th year includes artworks that have dotted some parts of the city's coastline. This year's $60,000 prize goes for the best artwork that is inspired by the nature of life.

Many of the works are meant to be interactive. The artists want visitors to touch them and in some cases even get inside of them. Sculpture by the Sea will run at Sydney’s Bondi Beach until November 6th.

The exhibition is a huge event with a $2 million annual budget. This year, for the festival’s 20th anniversary, 20 prominent sculptors, previously involved with the event, were invited to participate among the 103 exhibiting artists.
