Iran have edged past Yemen to earn a place in the quarter finals of the AFC U-19 Championship, which is being held in Bahrain.
The first round saw Iran settle for a 1-all tie against Qatar and play out a goalless draw against Japan who has now progressed into the quarters with the Iranian outfit.
The Persians were the brighter side and got the winner in the 45th minute when Abolfazl Razzaghpour drove a stunning free kick into the top corner of the Yemeni goal.
The Iranian squad could’ve extended their advantage on several good chances but it mattered little in the context of the match as the Iranians notched up all three points to cruise into the next round.
