Georgia’s main opposition party, the United National Movement, has organized a large rally in the capital Tbilisi as part of its pre-election campaign. A few hours before the rally, one of the party's MPs survived a car bombing. The country's prime minister said the attack was aimed at destabilizing the situation in Georgia ahead of the weekend’s parliamentary elections.
