US Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton should undergo a neurological test, says President Barack Obama’s former doctor.
Dr. David Scheiner told CNN on Tuesday that the former secretary of state needs to take a thorough test due to her history of brain injury.
“I think she should have had a neurological examination, a thorough neurological examination in 2016,” Scheiner said.
The doctor’s comment comes amid a series of unsubstantiated reports questioning Clinton’s well-being, claiming that she never fully recovered from a blood clot that she suffered in her brain in late 2012.
In response, Clinton’s campaign has published a medical note from her physician that concludes that she is healthy.
Scheiner, however, said the letter was not enough despite indicating a full recovery from the concussion and no signs of clotting disorders.
Clinton, 68, addressed the issue during an appearance on ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel” last week, saying the allegations were part of a “wacky strategy” by the GOP to gain more votes.
She also took a jab at Republican nominee Donald Trump by calling the 70-year-old “as healthy as a horse.”
A viral video on Youtube, which has more than 3 million views, claims that Clinton is suffering from a plethora of diseases such as autism and a brain tumor.
The rumors surrounding Clinton’s health gained more momentum after Trump questioned the former first lady’s well-being.
He said that Clinton “lacks the mental and physical stamina” to run the country.
This is while the New York billionaire himself is faced with similar questions and his only public medical record -- a letter written by his physician that was released in December – has also been disputed.
Scheiner said Trump should release real medical records that contain information like his height and weight.
“We know what happens to football players who have had concussions, how they begin to lose some of their cognitive ability. I think both of them should release their records,” the doctor stressed.
