Norwegian family builds eco-friendly home in Arctic circle

Gorgeous solar geodesic dome crowns cob house in the Arctic Circle in Norway.

A Norwegian family has constructed a sustainable and unique home in the country’s Arctic circle. The house is completely covered by a glass dome.

The eco-home is made completely from natural materials such as sand, straw, clay, wood and glass. The 7.5-meter-high dome covers the entire house with a diameter of 15 meters.

The protective dome consisted of 360 glass panels and 832 meters of recycled aluminum framework, and has a lifetime of 100 years.

The family’s father says the aim is to give his four children a great childhood and the awareness they need to manage life on the Earth.
