Concerns mount over post-coup purge in Turkey

The failed coup attempt in Turkey has prompted Ankara to push for the reinstatement of the death penalty. Turkey abolished capital punishment in 2004 to facilitate a bid to join the European Union. The issue will take center stage in parliamentary sessions in the coming days. Supporters of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan are in favor of the government's attempt to reintroduce the death penalty. The move has also drawn a great deal of concern. Press TV's correspondent Verenia Keet reports.
