The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) has called for all Russian athletes to be banned from the upcoming 2016 Rio Olympic Games.

This comes after a report produced by sports law professor Richard McLaren, showed evidence of widespread state-sponsored doping by Russian athletes at the 2014 Sochi Olympics.

WADA also wants the International Olympics Committee to ban all Russian officials from access to international competitions, including the upcoming Rio Games. They say that the government of the country was also involved in manipulating results totally in favor of their own athletes.

In a statement on Monday, the IOC Executive Board said it would carefully study the growing crisis on Tuesday, and announce whether it could issue “provisional measures and sanctions” in time for this summer’s competition.
