Israeli forces have shot dead a Palestinian man in the occupied West Bank. The incident occurred in a settlement near the city of al-Khalil also known as Hebron. Israelis say the Palestinian man stabbed two settlers, one of them in serious condition.
The Leader of Iran's Islamic Revolution says it’s a duty for all Muslims to defend the rights of the Palestinian people. Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei made the remark as Muslims across the world are gearing up for the International Quds Day, the last Friday of the fasting month of Ramadan.
Prominent Bahraini rights activist Nabeel Rajab has been transferred from a military hospital to prison again, despite his deteriorating health condition. Rajab is scheduled to stand trial on July 12 for criticizing the Bahraini regime’s prison system and its involvement in the Saudi war on Yemen.
A coalition of Kurdish and Arab fighters in northern Syria has made fresh gains against ISIL in an ongoing battle to liberate the city of Manbij. The US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces discovered two underground tunnels, each hundreds of meters long, and also a large cache of weapons and ammunition.
A new report suggests police in the US state of Connecticut are more likely to use stun guns on minorities. Connecticut officers fired their stun guns at 419 people last year. The majority of those targeted were Hispanics and African Americans, many of them shocked twice and more.
An estimated eight-thousand Argentineans have rallied in Buenos Aires against hikes in energy and electricity prices. The Demonstrators wore blankets and carried candles to slam the energy policies introduced by President Mauricio Macri's government. Macri insists higher prices are essential to ensure the health of the economy.
China says it will reject any ruling by a UN-backed Permanent Court of Arbitration in a case brought by the Philippines. Beijing says it will not accept any solution imposed on it. Manila has lodged a suit against China, contesting its claim to about 90 percent of the South China Sea.
In Bolivia, dozens of anti-government protesters have been injured or arrested in clashes between police and factory workers. The demonstrators blocked a major road in the city of Cochabamba. They want a 2013 agreement between Provincial Workers Central union and the government to be called off.
