Clinton will keep US war machine running, profit flowing: Analyst

Donald Trump is a sideshow who is there to help Hillary Clinton get elected president of the United States, an American writer and political analyst says.

Daniel Patrick Welch told Press TV on Wednesday that Clinton is the candidate of the US establishment who would be elected in the November election “to keep the war machine running and keep the profit flowing.”

Presumptive Republican presidential nominee Trump on Wednesday denounced his Democratic rival Clinton’s fundraising efforts, accusing her of raising blood money. “All of the money that she’s raising, that’s blood money.”

Trump dismissed claims that his presidential bid is in hot waters because his fundraising efforts are lagging so far behind Clinton’s, saying that the former secretary of state is making promises to donors in order to gain mega contributions.

“Even though he is spouting all that crazy rhetoric he’s essentially correct [about Clinton]. She is selling favors, she and the Clinton machine, which she co-manages with her husband, have made a career out of influence peddling and raising hundreds of millions of dollars in this shell game or ponzi scheme of selling access to the office and to the government to big donors, to foreign governments, to corporations, anyone who will buy, like the Thenardiers from the Les Miserables that are just out to make a buck at all cost,” Welch said.

“The campaign at this point is really a sad kind of degradation of this bizarre notion of democracy in a kind of modern capitalist society. This is an Empire masquerading as a democracy when economically it’s an oligarchy with chosen candidates with very little difference between them, being chosen by the elite and forced on the American people,” he added.

“And we saw this through the campaign… the immense collusion between the Democratic National Committee (DNC) and the Clinton campaign to favor her over any rival. And Sanders just became pain because he wouldn’t stop…he still won’t stop… and the collision between the DNC and Hillary campaign and the press, which is obvious for anyone to see, absolutely obvious!” the analyst said.

“If you live within this bubble, or are from the political class that has something to gain from the system, you’re just completely blind to it. And it is frightening to talk to people who are still convinced that this is a real democracy, because they just don’t see it. You try to tell them that two plus two is four but they keep insisting it’s five,” he stated.

“There’s no sense of democracy left [in the US]. You can see this through this fund raising mask that Hillary Clinton is the pick of Big Money. She is the anointed candidate, because she is one of them,” he noted.

“She is vetted and trained, pro-war, and ready-to-go, to keep the war machine running and to keep the profit flowing,” the writer said.

“Trump, I think, is no more than a side show, and this was always intended. And this it makes look like a setup, that he was intended to look so bad to make a lousy candidate like Hillary Clinton, who is broadly despised and had to be kind of cheated into office through various money laundering and influence peddling campaigns like Hillary Clinton Fund and Clinton Foundation… [She] is so dirty, so repulsive that you have to have someone even worse for her to look like a show again,” he emphasized.
