Press TV has conducted an interview with Sara Flounders, the co-director of the International Action Center, and Maxine Dovere, a journalist and political commentator, to discuss the US presidential nomination system.

Flounders says the corporate media in the United States have given billions of dollars and free non-stop coverage to Donald Trump, the Republican front-runner in the 2016 US presidential elections, who promotes “racist violence, violence against black people, violence against Muslims and against immigrant people.”

Urging the American people “to say no” to the Trump campaign, she says, “The publicity is promoting a message of hatred, division and violence.”

She says Trump supporters’ violent rallies are getting enormous corporate coverage to inflame the society in the US.

Flounders also addresses the issue of why Trump is leading other Republican candidates. Referring to the caucuses in the US elections, she says, “The majority of people cannot even participate in these primaries both because of voter registration and because more than 40 percent of the population now are independent; so, they can’t vote in all of the closed primaries in any way at all.”

Dovere, for her part, says Trump’s statements are not clear to anyone except himself. His speeches about foreign and economic policy are vague, she says.
