- Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has slammed the killing of two Palestinian siblings by Israeli soldiers in the occupied West Bank. His cabinet also condemned the international silence on what it described as an unjustifiable crime. An official from the Hamas movement also called on Palestinian activists to take revenge for the crime.
- Israeli soldiers have shot another Palestinian in the Occupied West Bank for an alleged stabbing attempt. The gunshot left the girl wounded. Israeli forces arrested the girl and her friend. The incident took place at a checkpoint near a village west of Ramallah.
- The Turkish army has lost a soldier as it launched a massive attack on the Kurdistan Workers’ Party militants in the southeast. The clashes in the city of Shirnak also left six soldiers injured. The offensive is part of the Turkish army's months-long crackdown on the militants in the Kurdish-majority regions.
- Six people have been killed in an airstrike by US-led foreign forces in eastern Afghanistan. A drone targeted the Dih Bala district of Nangarhar province. The casualties are said to be members of Daesh terrorist group. Local officials have not commented on the airstrike as of yet.
- The Islamic Movement of Nigeria says hundreds of people killed by Nigerian army last year should be disinterred from a mass grave in the country’s north. The I-M-N says some 374 Shia Muslims, including women and children, have been buried in the grave in the city of Zaria.
- The Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe says at least four civilians have been killed in shelling in Ukraine’s east. An O-S-C-E spokesman said the fire must have come from the Ukrainian army’s side. The army denies the allegation. Ceasefire violations in eastern Ukraine have reached their highest level in months.
- In the U-K, Labour has suspended the former London mayor for making what the party's MPs call anti-Semitic remarks. A Labour spokesman said Ken Livingstone has brought the party QUOTE into disrepute. The former London mayor had told BBC that Hitler was once a supporter of Zionism.
