Press TV has conducted an interview with Sara Flounders, the co-director of the International Action Center, and Richard Hellman, the president of the Middle East Research Center, to discuss Israel’s latest claims about Syria’s Golan Heights.
Flounders says the Tel Aviv regime not only supports the terrorists active in Syria militarily but also provides them with medical care in a bid to see the war in the Arab country continue. Israel does that, she says, because the Israelis need the conflict in order to be able to carry out another plan, which is the annexation of more lands especially the Golan Heights.
“It’s Israel who works hand in glove with US imperialist interest in an attempt to destabilize and divide the countries of the region,” she says.
The Israeli regime joined Saudi Arabia and Turkey in aiding and arming terrorist and reactionary forces particularly the Takfiri Daesh group to pursue their mission in the Middle East, she says.
Ruling out the claim that the Golan Heights “historically” belongs to Israel, she says it is an “absolute religious fairy tale and complete violation of international law,” adding that the Golan Heights must be returned to Syria because it is a part of a province in the Arab country and the world recognizes the fact that Israel has “occupied Golan for 49 years.”
The activist says Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin “Netanyahu’s latest claim [on the Golan Heights] is really one more conscious provocation, reminding the whole world who is really to blame for the escalation, the division and the war in the entire region.”
Hellman, however, says he believes the Golan Heights belongs to Israel.
