More aid agencies helping refugees arriving in Greece now say they are joining a boycott of the so-called registration centers, arguing they have effectively turned into detention camps. The agencies are angered at a European Union deal they say rides roughshod over human rights. Rights organizations reject the pact between the EU and Turkey to fast-track registration and asylum applications. Under the agreement, hundreds of new arrivals have been detained since Sunday. Asylum seekers whose applications fail will be sent back to Turkey. Aid agencies say cooperating with the Greeks at detention centers would make them complicit in an unfair and inhumane practice.
