Reports say shots were fired right before the blasts. Belgian prosecutors say the attacks were carried out by suicide bombers. Shortly afterwards, another explosion hit Maalbeek metro station near the European Union’s main buildings. 34 people have been killed and nearly 190 others injured in the terrorist attacks. ISIL has claimed responsibility for the bombings. Belgium will hold three days of national mourning. The Interior Ministry has raised the terror threat to its highest level.
