Russia partial pullout from Syria 

It was indeed a shock announcement by Russia that it has decided to partially draw down a campaign that it started in Syria last September. It is not clear what exactly prompted President Vladimir Putin to order an immediate withdrawal of main combat forces from Syria. 

EU warming up to Israel

Israel’s ruling Likud party is going to become a regional ally of the European Conservatives and Reformists faction, ECR  in the European Parliament within a year. The process was set in motion last week. This came after a delegation from the Likud met with ECR parliament members at the European Parliament.
 

Obama whips free riders

In his last year in office, US President Barack Obama is speaking his mind more bluntly about challenges facing America with friends and foes. In a wide-ranging interview with the American magazine The Atlantic, Obama took a hard jab at a number of US key allies in the Middle East and Europe, calling them free riders on US foreign policy who are not carrying their own weight.
