Netanyahu seeks to get rid of Palestinians: Activist

Press TV has interviewed Paul Larudee, a member of the Free Palestine Movement in Berkeley, about Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's bid to deport relatives of alleged Palestinian attackers from the occupied West Bank to the besieged Gaza Strip.

The following is a rough transcription of the interview.

Press TV: How do you react to Benjamin Netanyahu threatening to expel all family members of Palestinians involved in “attacks”?

Larudee: He is very consistent. He wants to either kill or expel all Palestinians and any excuse that works is fine. There is a very consistent pattern here of house demolitions, of executions of 13-year-old girls as they are lying on the ground, of imprisonment, of revoking the residency status of people who live in Jerusalem but have to leave in order to work because Israel does not allow the creation of jobs in that area of the city, the expulsion of Palestinians, the killing of Palestinians, all of this is very consistent with the goal to rid Palestine of Palestinians, that is what he is doing and the next law might be because if you throw a gum on the street you will be expelled.

Press TV: I imagine the expectation as Netanyahu said, is that this would deter more resistance against Israeli occupation, Israeli aggression. Do you think that he is right on that?

Larudee: There is a precedent for this. This was the so-called suicide bombing in the first part right after the turn of the millennium and what they discovered was that it made absolutely no difference at all. In fact that is why they stopped the house demolitions and the expulsions of families at that time because it made absolutely no difference at all.

So he is not motivated because he thinks that it will result in fewer attacks. There are not that many attacks anyway, most of them are fabricated by the Israelis but it is not fewer attacks that he is looking for, it is fewer Palestinians.
