Kerry: US supports Saudi Arabia’s ongoing war on Yemen

Iran and China have signed documents to enhance ties especially bilateral trade. The documents signed after a meeting between Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani and his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping in Tehran. Rouhani said the two sides agreed to increase trade ties to 600 billion dollars in the next 10 years.
Israeli troops have killed a Palestinian teenager over an alleged stabbing attack in the occupied East Jerusalem al-Quds. The Palestinian girl was shot dead by Israeli forces at a checkpoint in the West Bank settlement of Almon. Israeli media say she attempted to stab a guard.
Saudi aircraft continue bombing various locations across Yemen. At least eleven people were injured as Saudi jets bombed a residential area in the town of Safra in Sa’ada province. Warplanes also pounded multiple positions across Jawf province.
US Secretary of state John Kerry has reiterated Washington’s support for Saudi Arabia’s ongoing war on Yemen. Kerry said the aerial attacks were aimed at dealing with Ansarullah Movement and al-Qaeda operatives in Yemen. Kerry was speaking at a press conference in Riyadh.
A group of international journalists have visited a recently liberated town in northwestern Syria. The journalists went on a tour of Salma in Latakia province and briefed on the status quo of the strategic town. Syrian forces recaptured Salma after weeks of fighting with terror groups.
Renowned American philosopher Noam Chomsky has once again slammed Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan for his policy toward Kurds and called him a murderer. In an interview with Al Jazeera television, Chomsky said Erdogan is undoubtedly carrying out vicious repressive actions by attacking Kurds in Turkey’s southeast.
A huge blizzard has hit the US east coast and is expected to dump near-record levels of snow from Washington to New York. At least 9 people have died and thousands of flights cancelled. Six states have announced emergencies and people have been told to stay at home.
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police say at least four people have been killed and an unspecified number of others injured in a school shooting in Saskatchewan. A suspect has also been taken into custody in connection with the shooting which took place in La Losh community.
