Valencia twice came from behind to claim a 2-2 draw against 10-man Real Madrid in the La Liga to turn up the heat on Rafael Benitez.
On Sunday, Benitez was back in a club that he guided to a couple of La Liga titles. His men had a dream start when Karim Benzema opened the scoring with a well-worked early goal to silence the home crowd. Gareth Bale's back-heel found Cristiano Ronaldo, who coolly laid the ball off for Benzema to sweep home.
Valencia piled on pressure before the break and got their reward when Gomez surged into the area where he was fouled by Pepe. Former Madrid man Parejo calmly placed the ball past Keylor Navas.
After being reduced to 10 men, Madrid increased the pressure late in the match and looked to have claimed the victory when Bale rose to professionally guide in a cross.
Seven minutes from time and it was Alcacer who had the final say as he equalized with a brilliant team play, a minute after Bale's goal.
Two chances came in the dying seconds of the match. One was somehow cleared by an unlikely Ronaldo on Valencia's goal. The other one was wasted by Negredo after a fast counter attack the other side.
