Two Iranian skaters among world’s top-ranked athletes

Ardeshir Govanlopoor, member of Iran’s national inline aggressive skate team

Two members of Iran’s national inline aggressive skate team have been named among the world’s top-ranked athletes of the sport, thanks to praiseworthy performances at the recently finished 2015 Festival International des Sports Extremes (FISE) World Series in Malaysia.

The 28-year Ardeshir Govanlopoor notched up 80 points at the end of the three-day sporting event at Dataran Lang (Eagle Square) in Langkawi island to claim the eleventh spot in the world’s overall rankings.

Govanlopoor’s compatriot, Mohsen Eskandari, also garnered 76 points to land in the world’s 15th place.

Dominik Wagner collected 90 points in this category to stand atop the podium. Richie Eisler, Julien Cudot and Grigoriy Lobko accumulated 89, 88 and 87 points to finish in the second to fourth places respectively.

The 2015 FISE World Series opened in Langkawi Island on December 18 and finished on December 20.

Australia’s 21-years old Logan Martin was named the overall winner of the tournament. He was followed by Daniel Sandoval from the United States in the second place.

Another American Alex Coleborn took the third place in the ranking, and Daniel Dhers from Venezuela finished in the 4th position.
