With the arrival of the month of Muharram, Muslims in Sydney prepare for the commemoration of Ashura and the Arba’een.
Across the city, numerous Islamic centers are dressed in black with Majalis held throughout the sacred month.
During these mournful days, the lovers of Ahlul Bayt remember the tragedy of Karbala and prepare food for commemorators.
This year’s Muharram in Sydney also included various events such as blood donation and an Arba’een photo exhibition featuring photos from Karbala’s Arba’een taken by photographer Tom Toby.
The exhibition also featured a book launch and documentary.
