- Turkey says it will stop deploying troops to northern Iraq after Baghdad threatened to lodge a complaint with the U-N Security Council. Ankara says it dispatched troops to a camp near Mosul to train local forces fighting Daesh terrorists. Iraq denounced the move as a violation of its national sovereignty.
- The so-called Syrian Observatory for Human Rights says at least 32 Daesh terrorists have been killed and 40 injured in a series of airstrikes in Raqqah province. Over 15 explosions reportedly hit Daesh positions there. The U-S led coalition says it's targeted the terrorists in northern and eastern Syria.
- Israeli forces have shot dead a Palestinian in the occupied West Bank following an alleged stabbing attack. Israeli sources say the Palestinian stabbed and inured two Israelis in Jerusalem al-Quds. At least 116 Palestinians have lost their lives at the hands of Israeli forces since the beginning of October.
- Yemeni school girls and children have participated in a rally outside the U-N office in Sana’a to draw attention to months of Saudi aggression against their country. They called on the world body to end the bloodshed and destruction. The war has so far claimed about 72-hundred lives.
- Heavy snowfall and blizzards have hit 12 provinces across Iran, disrupting normal life in some areas. Iran’s Red Crescent society says efforts are underway to get relief aid to people in the affected regions. The temperatures are expected to plummet to minus 15 degrees Celsius in some parts of the country.
- Azerbaijani intellectuals have condemned the government’s crackdown on Shia Muslims in the eastern town of Nardaran. The scholars signed a petition to slam Baku for accusing Shias of supporting Daesh. Nearly a dozen people were killed in Azerbaijani forces’ raids in Nardaran in recent weeks.
- Warring factions in Libya have reached an initial agreement on ending the conflict that has plagued the country for years. The agreement was signed by representatives of two major rival parliaments. According to the deal, a committee will be formed to decide on a government within two weeks.
- Exit polls from the first round of regional elections in France show the far-right National Front party is leading the polls. National Front Leader, Marine Le Pen, has welcomed the results as magnificent. The party of former president Nicolas Sarkozy is also ahead in three regions.
