Iraqi troops advancing against Daesh in Ramadi
Meanwhile, Iraqi army forces are advancing against Daesh terrorists in the city of Ramadi, the capital of Western Anbar province.
Military officials say the troops are making gains on three fronts where they have long been deployed. The months-long efforts in surrounding the city have been effective in cutting supply lines for the ISIL. The offensive has been prolonged due to ISIL’s heavy use of explosive devices around the city. Ramadi fell to ISIL in May. The operations to retake the city began after Iraqi troops and volunteer forces managed to liberate the city of Tikrit in Salahuddin province.
