Artur Mas fails to win enough votes to stay Catalan president

The leader of Spain’s Catalonia region has failed to secure enough votes to stay in power. Opponents of Artur Mas accuse him of incompetence and corruption. The Catalan parliament has until January ten to choose a new leader to form the Barcelona-based government or it has to call for snap elections.
