EU slams Turkey crackdown on press

EU officials are set to visit Turkey for talks. The EU had released a report on Turkey, which hailed its role in containing the refugee influx, but criticized Ankara for its crackdown on journalists and interference with the judicial proceedings. Turkey immediately rejected the allegations and urged the European Union to appropriately interpret facts concerning followers of US-based dissident Fethullah Gulen.
