At least seven Armenian nationals have lost their lives when their bus overturned on a highway south of the Russian capital, Moscow.
The accident, that took place on the M4 “Don” highway in Tula Region, also left 35 others injured, Russia’s Ria Novosti news agency reported on Tuesday, citing emergency services.
According to local police, the bus swerved off the highway about 200 meters before crashing onto its right side.
“Almost all traveling in the bus [were] citizens of Armenia, all of them were adults, there were no children,” the local emergency service said.
The injured were reportedly transported to hospital, while the rest of the passengers have been given shelter in a local cinema.
The vehicle carrying 63 passengers had been traveling from Moscow to the Armenian capital of Yerevan.
In July 2013, at least 18 people were killed and 40 others injured in a deadly accident involving a passenger bus near Moscow.
In Russia, some 25,000 people lose their lives in traffic accidents every year.
