On Tuesday Catalan groups Junts Pel Sí and CUP agreed on a nine point document that states the future Catalan state will be a republic. Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy called on opposition leaders to discuss the issue in a desperate attempt to maintain stability in the run-up to general elections in December.
