Iran men’s national futsal team has suffered its second loss against the strong Italian side in a warm-up match for the 2016 Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Futsal Championship, which is scheduled to be held in Uzbekistan early next year.
On Wednesday evening, the Iranian squad put on a satisfactory display of skills at the Estraforum Hall in the central city of Prato, located 18 kilometers (11 miles) northwest of Florence, going to great lengths to steal the show and seal the victory, but went down to a close 2-3 loss at last.
The defeat came a day after Iranian futsal players slumped to their Italian counterparts 0-2 in their first friendly encounter.
The national futsall teams of Iran and Italy have played against each other seven times. Iran has emerged triumphant in one match, Italy has chalked up three victories, and three matches have ended up in a draw.
Iran’s national futsal team is getting ready for the 2016 AFC Futsal Championship, which will be the 14th edition of the AFC Futsal Championship.
The tournament will be staged in Uzbekistan between February 10 and 21, 2016. A total of 16 teams will take part in the continental sporting event.
