Iran is planning to hold the 7th Tehran International Sculpture Symposium, welcoming artists from more than ten countries.
Some 9 Iranian and 14 international sculptors from 13 countries, including Russia, Albania, Portugal, Italy, Germany, Peru, Bulgaria and Greece will take part in the annual event.
The works have been selected by a committee comprised of Morteza Nematollahi, Kambiz Sabri, Mohammad-Reza Khalaji, Majid Haqiqi and Behdad Lahouti. The artistic creations will be installed in different locations across the capital.
As part of the symposium’s efforts to promote visual arts education, the committee has also selected ten students to present their works on the sidelines of the event.
Organized by Tehran’s Beautification Organization, the event also aims to develop and promote the art of sculpture and urban beautification, and provide the necessary conditions for the emergence and evolution of visual artworks.
The 2015 edition of the Tehran International Sculpture Symposium will kick off at Tehran’s Milad Tower on September 23.
