Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi has said the violation of UN Resolution 2231 will not result in the snap-back of sanctions against Tehran.
The resolution bans selling missiles to Iran. Now Araqchi says Tehran will press ahead fast with its missile program. Araqchi was speaking at a parliamentary committee tasked with reviewing the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, JCPOA. He noted that Iran will not abide by the missile sanctions. Araqchi also described the removal of Iran’s nuclear energy program from under Chapter Seven of the United Nations as a legal achievement for the country.
