Press TV has conducted an interview with Saeed Shahabi, political analyst in London, to discuss ongoing heavy-handed crackdown on peaceful pro-democracy protesters in Bahrain.

The following is an approximate transcript of the interview.

Press TV: How far the Al Khalifa is willing to go to quell these popular demonstrations?

Shahabi: It is clear from this crackdown yesterday and in the past two weeks that the Al Khalifa will stop at nothing to crush and quell people’s rebellion. It is clear that after four and a half years that these people cannot be crushed.

This revolution has come to stay and to achieve results. The Al Khalifa have also proven themselves to be the enemies of the people and the people of Bahrain also view those rulers as enemies and occupiers who have invited the foreigners to occupy the country [Inaudible].

All in all, the people of Bahrain and the Al Khalifa are becoming two irreconcilable foes and for this the ruling family will continue to crush the people in addition to trying to replace the natives with foreigners through the political nationalization process.
