Iranian archers have exhibited dazzling performances in the third leg of the 2015 Archery World Cup in Poland, and managed to collect two silver medals at the prestigious event.
On Saturday, Iran’s 39-year-old athlete Esmaeil Ebadi competed in the final match of the men's individual compound section in the western Polish city of Wroclaw, and scored 145 points to snatch silver.
Abhishek Verma of India received the gold medal with a total score of 148 points.
Iran’s compound mixed pair of Ebadi and Afsaneh Shafiei earned the country a second silver, when they faced opponents from Denmark and went down 149-154.
The 2015 Archery World Cup is the 10th edition of the annual Archery World Cup, organized by the World Archery Federation.
The first leg of the tournament was staged from May 5 to 10 in Shanghai, China. The second leg contests were held in Turkey’s southern Mediterranean city of Antalya between May 26 and 31.
The third leg opened in Wroclaw, Poland, on August 11, and finished on August 16. Colombia’s Medellin will host the final leg from September 8 to 13.
