Daesh Takfiri terrorist leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi reportedly raped and abused US hostage Kayla Mueller when she was held by the terrorist group.
American intelligence officials told the hostage’s family in June that Kayla was forced to have sex with Baghdadi.
In an interview with the Associated Press on Friday, Kayla's father talked about the rape incident.
"They told us that he married her, and we all understand what that means," Carl Mueller said.
"Kayla did not marry this man. He took her to his room and he abused her and she came back crying," said her mother Marsha Mueller.
In February, ISIL announced that Kayla Mueller of Prescott, Arizona, was killed in Syria when Jordanian fighter jets bombed a building where she was being held.
The White House also confirmed her death and said the group provided additional information about the death that was "authenticated" by US intelligence agencies.
The 26-year-old humanitarian aid worker was taken captive in the northern Syrian city of Aleppo in August 2013.
A 14-year-old Yazidi girl, who was held with Mueller, revealed the case. The girl, who was captured in Iraq, escaped from al-Shadadiya town in Syria in October 2014.
American intelligence agencies corroborated the girl’s account and officials passed it on to Kayla’s parents in June.
Following her death, President Barack Obama said, “No matter how long it takes, the United States will find and bring to justice the terrorists who are responsible for Kayla’s captivity and death.”
The ISIL terrorists have been carrying out horrific acts of violence such as public decapitations and crucifixions against all communities, including Shias, Sunnis, Kurds, and Christians.
