Iran men’s national beach soccer team has lifted the trophy at the Beach Soccer Worldwide (BSWW) Friendship Cup 2015 in Belarus following a third successive victory.
On Sunday, the Iranian squad kept their dominance from the start of the match played in the Belarusian capital city of Minsk, and sealed a 3-2 win, the Football Federation of the Islamic Republic of Iran reported.
Farough Pasandeh seized a golden opportunity only four minutes into the game, and put the ball into the back of the net to open the scoring for the Islamic Republic.
The Persians stood still to secure the victory, and Mostafa Kiani doubled Iran’s lead in the 23rd minute.
The fixture shifted to a fierce combat in the last twelve minutes as Ihar Bryshtsel brought the score level at 2-2, and enlightened the Belarusian hopes.
At last, Mohammad Moradi scored the decider for Iran in the 27th minute, with only two minutes remaining.
The victory came a day after Iranian beach soccer players had outclassed the Estonian side 10-3.
In the game for the third place, Estonia earned a tight 4-3 win over Turkey.
The BSWW Friendship Cup 2015 opened in Minsk, Belarus, on July 24 and wrapped up on July 26. The hosts, Iran, Turkey, and Estonia vied for the cup in a round-robin format.
Iran just recently finished its campaign at the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup Portugal 2015, where they finished in sixth place after qualifying for the quarter-finals and falling just short of the semis.
