Iran men’s national beach soccer team has continued its winning streak at the Beach Soccer Worldwide (BSWW) Friendship Cup 2015 in Belarus, overcoming Estonia by a seven-goal margin.
On Saturday, the Iranian squad, which had seen off the Turkish outfit 5-3 in its opening match on July 24, trounced Estonians 10-3 in a match played in the Belarusian capital city of Misnk.
Mohammad Moradi opened the scoring for Iran only one minute into the game. He doubled the Islamic Republic’s lead three minutes later, and Farough Pasandeh scored the third goal for Iran in the 6th minute.
Shahriyar Mojdeh scored Iran’s fourth and fifth goals in the 13th and 14th minutes. Mostafa Kiani seized another golden opportunity in the 16th minute and put the ball into the back of the net to make it six for Iran.
Pasandeh netted the seventh goal for Iran in the 20th minute. Amir Hossein Akbari and Hamid Behzadpour scored Iran’s three other goals in the 22nd, 31st and 35th minute.
The Iranian beach soccer team will take on the host nation in the final on Sunday evening.
The BSWW Friendship Cup 2015 opened in Minsk, Belarus, on July 24 and will wrap up on July 26. The hosts, Iran, Turkey, and Estonia are vying for the cup in a round-robin format.
Iran just recently finished its campaign at the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup Portugal 2015, where they finished in sixth place after qualifying for the quarter-finals and falling just short of the semis.
