Australian fire fighters are simultaneously battling five bushfires raging in the South Australia (SA) State amid forecasts of strong winds and rising temperatures.
The South Australian Country Fire Service (CFS) has dispatched its fire fighting teams to tackle the blazes scorching the area at Mount George, near Jarrett and Bridgewater-Carey Gully roads; on Kangaroo Island, near Western River and Colmans Road; at Mount Compass, near Victor Harbor and Cleland Gully roads; at Paracombe, near Churchett and Pitt roads; and at Goyder, around Balaklava and Bowmans.
Despite a rise in temperatures and gusting winds, the CFS has announced it has the blazes near Mount Compass and Cleland Gully roads under control and the fire that was burning toward homes in the Adelaide Hills has been contained.
Last month, officials had announced the end of the country’s fire risk season.
The recent fire is believed to have been rekindled after burn-offs from previous fires caused several days ago reignited.
In the meantime, CFS has issued warnings telling residents in affected areas to check and follow the state’s published Bushfire Survival Plan.
The Bushfire Survival Plan is a set of guidelines advising residents to take action against the treat and avoid making last-minute decisions that could prove deadly during a bushfire.
