Press TV has conducted an interview with Mohammed Daud Miraki, an Afghan activist, author and politician from Chicago, to discuss the motivation and consequences of the United States’ so-called war on terror in Afghanistan.
The analyst says Americans claimed that their mission was to eliminate the Taliban militant group operating in Afghanistan, but they failed to achieve that goal despite all the military equipment they posses.
The United States uses such terror groups as a “policy tool” to destabilize Russia and China, the political commentator argues.
US President Barack Obama and CIA say the so-called war to wipe out ISIL and other terrorist groups will take a decade, Miraki said, adding that such claims shows Washington’s plan to use the purported anti-terror operation as a pretext to justify its presence in the region.
