Thousands of people have formed a human chain around a synagogue in the Danish capital Copenhagen where a Jewish security guard was killed last month.
The Muslim organizer of Saturday’s show of solidarity, Niddal El-Jabr, said that the Jewish people “should be able to practice their religion in peace.”
The event was inspired by a similar event on February 27, when Copenhagen's mayor, Frank Jensen, took part in a "ring of peace" at the nearby City Hall square.
On February 15, one of the synagogues' security guards, Dan Uzan, was shot and killed by gunman Omar El-Hussein after he fatally wounded Danish filmmaker Finn Norgaard at a rally in Copenhagen.
