A top Iranian commander says the Israeli regime is an easy target for Palestinian resistance groups whose, missiles can reach the entire Israeli occupied territories.
“The entire territories of occupied Palestine are now within the range of Hezbollah and the people of Gaza, this means the downfall of Israel and the Zionist regime knows this,” said Commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari on Thursday.
The high-profile Iranian commander further elaborated on the popular nature of the resistance groups, which according to him, has successfully blocked the Israeli regime’s bids to cross into Palestine and Lebanon.
Israel worried about regional alliance
Elsewhere, Jafari said that the establishment of Takfiri terrorist group ISIL was a plot to counter the alliance and cooperation between Iran, Iraq and Syria, and break the growing unity between the three countries.
“Thank God, this [the plot] again backfired and made this alliance stronger,” he said.
In his address to US Congress on Wednesday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu tried to establish a connection between Iran and ISIL and downplayed Iran’s efforts to counter the terrorist group in Iraq and Syria.
The comments drew international condemnation with many around the world, calling Netanyahu's remarks flawed, unrealistic and illogical.
Since the start of the crisis in Syria in 2011, there have been numerous reports on cooperation between Israel and the ISIL, proving that the two are working to achieve the same goal in the Arab country. Israel is known to have been providing medical, intelligence and military support for militants fighting to topple the government of President Bashar al-Assad in Syria. This is while the Takfiri terrorist group has never targeted the interests of Israel in the region.
