Israeli army raided the Palestinian village of “Kharbatha Bani Hareth”. According to eye witnesses over a dozen jeeps entered the village, delivering 12 demolition orders to the owners of homes built 3 years ago, claiming they were constructed illegally, outside the village limits.
These demolition orders come as elections in Israel edge closer, with the ruling coalition pleasing its voters at the Palestinian’s expense. These demolitions could serve settlement expansion and allow settler communities to grow in neighboring lands.
However, this handing out of house demolitions is not the first of its kind. Experts declare that this is part of Israel’s official policy for land expansion into Palestinian territories.
House demolition orders are direct military orders given to Palestinians forcing them to demolish their homes at their own expense. Failure to do so will bring the Israeli military forces with their own bulldozers to conduct the demolition themselves, this can also lead to the arrest of the Palestinian refusing the demolition.
Events like this show that once again, Israel is trying to keep the Palestinian people from expanding their communities on their own lands and limit their aspirations.
