Iran-Uganda academic cooperation

Last year Iranian President Ebrahim Raeisi visited three African countries of Kenya, Uganda and Zimbabwe, during which he witnessed the signing of bilateral cooperation agreements in economic, scientific and educational sectors among others.

Immediate steps were taken to implement these agreements and, in this regard, Iran has granted full scholarships to Ugandan students to study in Iranian universities. The students will study diverse disciplines such as science, technology, and business. The Islamic Republic of Iran seeks to transfer technology to Africa and empower this continent that has for long suffered from exploitation by imperialist powers.
