Iran to host 5th Mustafa Prize, a celebration of Muslim scientific excellence

Iran will be hosting the 5th Mustafa Prize ceremony, a prestigious biennial event.

The ceremony will be held in the central Iranian city of Isfahan from September 28 to October 4. The event will be attended by 150 luminaries from across the Muslim world.

Scholars are invited to the event in recognition of their scientific excellence.

The Mustafa Prize was established in 2012 and has since become a symbol of scientific excellence for Iran and other Muslim nations.

Since 2015, it has been held biennially.

The prize pays tribute to leading researchers and scientists of the Islamic world. Laureates are awarded $500,000, financed through the science and technology endowment. In addition to the monetary award, they will also be adorned with the Mustafa Medal and an Honorary Diploma.

The prize is awarded in four categories. In 2016, Science Magazine referred to the prize as “Muslim Nobel.”
