EU facing recession
The official data shows the eurozone has entered into a technical recession at the start of the year. Figures published by the EUs statistic agency show the economy of the monetary union of 20 EU countries shrank point-one-percent for a second consecutive quarter. Inflation is pressuring the nations that had adopted the euro as their common currency. There are concerns of sluggish business and eroding consumer confidence in the region.
