Analyst: Hunter Biden's laptop is legitimate target for investigation

An American political analyst and activist says the US media ought to be investigated for holding back on Hunter Biden's laptop story because it wanted Joe Biden to win or at least for Donald Trump to lose.

Myles Hoenig, an official of the Maryland People's Party, made the remarks in an interview with Press TV on Sunday following the emergence of evidence that social media sided with the Washington establishment to suppress negative reports about Joe Biden’s son Hunter ahead of the 2020 election

Elon Musk released what he called the “Twitter Files” on Friday, delving into the company's decision to block the Hunter Biden laptop story.

The posts focused on the controversy surrounding Biden’s son Hunter Biden and Twitter’s reaction limiting the spread of posts about it.

It was billed as a bombshell that exposed how Twitter engaged in “free speech suppression” in the critical run-up to the 2020 election.

Trump called for the termination of the US Constitution’s rules regarding elections to overturn the results of the disputed 2020 presidential election.

“The Republican Party will not pass any legislation for the next two years regarding issues that affect all or most Americans. That would include our economic survival, health matters, social justice, etc. But it also means that we will unlikely see national bans on abortion, anti-immigration laws, gun-promoting legislation, etc. It would be unlikely that a Democratic senate and a Democratic president would go along with those pieces. What they do promise are investigations, some merited and some strictly vindictive,” said Hoenig.

“There are two issues related to Hunter Biden’s laptop that should be their focus. Are the reports true that he used his father’s position and influence for deal-making in Ukraine and was Joe Biden a beneficiary? That should be investigated as much as Trump’s emoluments while in office, which the Democrats never addressed (and an easier impeachment charge to prove). The New York Post quoted Rudy Giuliani regarding his laptop, but we should know by now that anything he says needs verification from every direction. His lies are as blatant as the Pillow Guy, Mike Lindell. An investigation, which forces the FBI to intervene, should be telling,” he added.

“What is not discussed in the media, for obvious reasons, is why the Democratic Party and the media, including Facebook and Twitter, held back on the story before the election. Sometimes people who are paranoid, like Trump, can be right about their fears.  There were major forces working against him, as it is in every election, local to federal. The reason for holding back the story is also obvious; they wanted Biden to win or at least for Trump to lose,” he stated.

“The role of the media has taken on immense proportions. Billions of dollars are spent during presidential election cycles and it’s not for door-to-door outreach. TV and print journalism are the major beneficiaries. To run a campaign on a shoestring is a recipe for utter defeat in most cases. The media controls the message as well as hiding the message, and that is what’s needed to be investigated,” he noted.

Trump said the revelations show “MASSIVE & WIDESPREAD FRAUD & DECEPTION” from Big Tech, the Democratic National Committee and the Democratic Party, asking if the 2020 election results should be thrown out and he should be declared the winner or if a new election should be held.

Trump believes that the election was rigged by the US establishment in favor of Biden. He has said that the 2020 presidential election was “the greatest Election Hoax in history.”

He previously accused Twitter and Facebook of helping Biden to win the controversial 2020 election.

The New York Post published a story in October 2020, less than a month before Election Day, alleging that Hunter Biden used his influence to connect a Ukrainian businessman with his father while he was serving as vice president.

A laptop that allegedly was dropped off at a Delaware computer repair shop included evidence demonstrating Hunter Biden’s actions, former Trump attorney and former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani told the Post.

Twitter took blocked users from sharing the link to the story on its platform.

Twitter, Facebook and other social media platforms banned Trump from their services after protesters stormed the US Capitol on January 6, 2021.

Zuckerberg: Facebook suppressed Hunter Biden laptop story after FBI warning

In August, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg made an astonishing admission: that Facebook did, in fact, limit newsfeed sharing of a story about  Biden’s son, Hunter, and his laptop after warnings from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).

Zuckerberg said his social media platform did not ban people from sharing the Washinton Post’s story, but it took action to limit how often the story appeared on feeds.

Zuckerberg however defended the FBI as a “legitimate institution.” He said that the FBI reached out to his company ahead of the 2020 presidential election and urged them to take action against potentially polarizing content.
