DFB-Pokal: Dortmund hammer Leipzig 4-1 to win title

Borussia Dortmund have won their fifth title, after thrashing RB Leipzig 4-1 at Olympiastadion, with doubles from Jadon Sancho and Erling Haaland.

Dortmund took an early lead when Sancho put the ball past the keeper in the fiffth minute with a perfect strike.

Then before the half-hour mark, Haaland’s effort doubled the lead for his side, as the Norwegian star applied a powerful finish to his great solo run.

Dortmund were merciless, and did not miss a chance, as Sancho completed a brace in the final seconds of the first half.

In the 71st minute, Leipzig pulled one back, via Dani Olmo’s rocket shot from the edge of the box.

And finally, in the 87th minute, it was Haaland’s turn to complete a double for Dortmund, for the 4-1 final score.

It was Borussia Dortmund’s fifth DFB-Pokal title, while RB Leipzig have failed to win any in their two final appearances.
